Answers to Questions We Know you Have in Mind

Q: When I become a Career Agent, what specifically will I do?

A: You will own and operate a recruiting and/or staffing business in a high-growth industry such as healthcare. You will identify and place professionals in permanent or temporary positions for lump-sum recruiting fees or ongoing staffing revenue. Using technology, online marketing and team building, you will be able to accomplish far more, in less time, than traditional recruiters could ever achieve.

With “Permanent Placement” you will locate a pharmacist and place her qualifications in your database, then identify a hospital that needs a pharmacist with similar credentials. Once the hospital signs your agreement, you introduce them to each other and when the pharmacist agrees to a first-year salary of $120,000, you receive a lump-sum recruiting fee typically in the $24,000 to $30,000 range.

In “Temporary Staffing” operations you may locate a qualified nurse who is ready, able, and willing to work at a pay rate of $40 per hour and have placed this information in your database. Also in your database is a hospital with a need for a similarly-qualified nurse at the rate of $60 per hour. The nurse becomes your employee, temporarily assigned to the hospital’s staff, you pay taxes and insurance, the resulting margin is yours for every hour of the contract.

From the start, or at any time along the way, you can expand your business with your own recruiting team who work from their home offices. We will help you recruit and train these commissioned Recruiting Consultants, with emphasis on individuals who can contribute to your company’s sales revenue.

Q: Explain your "Agent" approach to filling in-demand positions.

A: Traditional recruiters typically push jobs onto candidates, trying to force round pegs into holes that are often square. In contrast, Career Agents take the time to find out what motivates the candidate -- better hours, a different geographic location, greater opportunities, etc. – and then pinpoint one or more positions meeting those criteria.

As their Agent, we are the candidates’ advocate and locate appropriate positions for them by our use of advanced technology, online intelligence, research software, and through teamwork – whether by working with other Career Agents and splitting placement fees, and/or by building our own team of recruiting personnel.

High-growth industries are candidate-driven employment marketplaces. In healthcare, for instance, the demand is so great that its professionals clearly have the upper hand, and they know it. Like movie stars and professional athletes, candidates in such industries benefit from having an Agent representing them.

During the IT boom of the 1990s, the founders of Career Agents Network recognized that they made more placements when they marketed candidates to employers rather than fill positions for employers. There are strong similarities between the employment situation of yesterday’s technology boom, today's healthcare professions, and other high-growth industries.

Q: What training and support will I receive?

A: Our training objective is to get you up to speed and earning money as quickly as possible, and we’ve had many years of experience perfecting the process. To that end, we will provide you with a combination of face-to-face onsite training, online remote training, daily coaching calls, special training events, and regular conferences.

Your start-up will follow a specific plan – our First 100 Days Action Plan -- that specifies everything you need to accomplish, day by day, every week, to stay on track. Your online remote training during your first 30 days will include more than 100 hours of live training, web-conferences, online tutorials, manuals study, conference calls and exercises.

Of course, you will also want to attend two days of intensive onsite, start-up training at our corporate headquarters as early as you are able to schedule it. You needn’t attend on day one, but the sooner you do, the better for you. Later, anytime after your first 60 days of operation, you can receive advanced hands-on training at our office, working right alongside experienced recruiters on our staff.

And last but far from least, you will receive lifetime support from the same experts and staff who train you, plus unlimited access to our online training portal and Split Placement Database. Our staff is always very responsive to any questions you may have. It’s their job and they do it very, very well.

Q: If someone accompanies me to my initial on-site training, what is the cost?

A: New Agents may bring one guest -- either a business associate or spouse -- through onsite training at our Headquarters for no additional charge. Travel expenses for attending this training event are not covered and the accompanying “partner” must sign an appropriate agreement to protect our intellectual property.

Q: Is this business a franchise?

A: No. As a Career Agent, you will be provided with a structured, proven system and world class training and support. However, no franchise fees or royalties are due, there are no territorial limitations, and you're not required to buy any additional materials, systems, or services beyond your initial investment covering all needed software, training and support.

Q: What are the basic differences between recruiting and staffing?

A: The term recruiting applies to the process of matching an employer’s need to fill an open position with a permanent employee who is qualified to fill it.

Staffing is normally defined as the process of matching an employer’s need to fill an open position with an individual who is qualified to fill it, but who is and remains an employee of the staffing company.

Our Members recruit qualified professionals and are paid a lump-sum fee when one takes a job with a company that we have contracted with. Career Agents also staff various companies with qualified professionals whom they – our Career Agents -- employ and payroll, usually on an hourly basis.

Q: How much can I realistically earn in healthcare recruiting and staffing?

A: The Fordyce Letter, in a recent survey, indicated that the revenue level of healthcare recruiters averages more than $200,000 a year. While Career Agents Network has Members who earn hundreds of thousands of dollars annually, there are no guarantees of income.

Because the placement of one diagnostic imaging technician might prompt an $18,000 fee and a single pharmacist placement could generate a $24,000 fee, annual six-figure incomes are attainable and realistic in healthcare recruiting. But we cannot suggest that such income levels are certain or absolute. That’s because your earnings will depend, in part, on factors that are beyond our control.

We will provide you with the training, technology, national network, and support that have been utilized by others to make significant revenue recruiting in high-growth industries, like healthcare. Still, your personal work ethic, communication skills, aggressiveness, motivation, and how well you follow our system – all will directly affect your income.

Q: Is there selling involved?

A: We know for a fact that it is counter-productive to "sell" or pressure in-demand professionals on the idea of quitting one job to take another. The candidate must want to explore a career move and, when that's the case, you will be the conduit through which it can happen, providing the services of an Agent at no cost to the candidate.

Career Agents assume the role of an employment consultant in recruiting and staffing, advising job candidates of available opportunities and placing options before them.

As you would expect, healthcare professionals tend to be thoughtful and caring individuals who are repulsed by any type of pressure when it comes to their career decisions. Employment facts and career advancement information are far more attractive to such candidates.

Q: Do I need a website?

A: Absolutely. We will therefore create a professional, smooth-to-navigate website for you to assure candidates and employers that your company is credible and highly organized. Functioning as much more than an online brochure, your website will allow candidates to submit their resumes to be automatically entered into your database without requiring manual data entry. You will also be able to display your jobs from the Split Placement Database at your website. Every candidate that applies through your website can be presented not only on your positions, but also for those of other Members, resulting in a Split Placement. That’s 45% of the fee to you, just for attracting the candidate via your website.

Q: What can I do to thoroughly understand this business and its operation before I commit my time and money?

A: We suggest – indeed, we require – that you participate in our “Business Analysis Process,” a very straightforward method of determining whether this business is right for you.

You will begin the process by first completing a Qualification Profile in which you will confidentially list your background and skills. Second, you will want to study a detailed, sample Career Agent Business Plan so that you might “put yourself in the picture” as a Career Agent who is recruiting and placing Nurse Practitioners and staffing hospitals with Physical Therapists.

Third, you will participate in at least one live Technology Web Demonstration where one of our trainers will show you how our software and systems work. Finally, you will speak with, and must be recommended by, at least three Members of our Advisory Panel. These are current recruiting company owners within Career Agents Network, speaking with them should give you a good idea as to whether this business is right for you.

Q: How does Career Agents Network apply technology to recruiting?

A: We have developed the most advanced research and intelligence software in our profession, making it possible for Career Agents to locate candidate and employer contact information at will and in volume.

Our software performs scans of websites, databases and directories in seconds, extracting thousands of contacts for you and for your team of recruiters, when and if you add them. Our email tracking applications pinpoint those who are interested in your services, while our content generation software publishes to your website or newsletter both keyword and industry-specific content.

Your recruiting management software will handle all of your communications with candidates and employers, while the Split Placement Database lets you to share placements and revenue, generating income you may otherwise not have realized.

All Career Agents rely on this powerful and impressive technology for their success. You will see for yourself how well it works in a Technology Web Demonstration that’s included in our Business Analysis Process.

Q: Are there protected territories? Do I need to be located in a large metropolitan area?

A: There are no territorial restrictions. You will be contacting employers and prospective employees throughout the United States and beyond, and will be able to operate your recruiting company just as successfully from a mountaintop as from a formal office in the heart of a major city – or from your home.

One of the great benefits of our business is the absence of geographic limitations or restrictions. You can operate your business in any location, and move it anywhere else, without missing a beat or losing touch with a single candidate or employer.

Neither the candidate nor the employer cares where you’re located. It simply isn’t relevant to their needs.

Q: Couldn't I just learn the business on my own?

A: Entrepreneurs who join us as Career Agents typically don’t want to start from scratch. They have shown that they prefer to spend their time productively, using a proven system and methodology rather than learning the intricacies of recruiting and staffing through trial and error. They feel that the sooner they can bypass costly learning mistakes and maximize revenue, the better.

They know that time is money, and if being a Member of Career Agents Network from day one results in just one or two additional placements in the first year, the fee will be money very well spent. Besides, our online network and systems will give you an edge in speed, accuracy, and efficiencies that no one else can match.

Q: In addition to healthcare, what other high-growth professions and industries does your Network focus on?

A: Industries that are growing are also hiring. For that reason, Career Agents Network can help a new Member to specialize in industries like health IT, renewable energy, credit/collections, software development, and others. Though the high-growth or “hot” industries change as economic cycles fluctuate, there are often professions within slow-growth industries that can be in high-demand – and we know how to identify them.

Q: Do I need to have recruiting, human resources, or medical experience to become a Career Agent specializing in healthcare?

A: Absolutely not. You do, however, need solid business experience, management or sales ability, a burning desire to succeed, and a willingness to follow the Career Agents Network system. Our most successful Members have had various business experiences which they have applied to recruiting and staffing.

Bottom line: demand is so strong in healthcare and other fast-growth industries that, if you and your team just execute the fundamentals, you can be successful. Our training, software and support will get you up to speed quickly and provide you with everything you need.

Q: How do Career Agents find healthcare candidates to place in open positions?

A: Candidates are everywhere. They know they are in demand and want the best deal, but they’re usually not sure how to find it. Many healthcare professionals are working extra hours, they’re underpaid, and they lack the time, inclination, and skills to sift through mountains of open positions to find their perfect one. If they’ve ever attempted to search for their perfect job alone, they know they need an Agent.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the healthcare industry is currently experiencing a shortfall of more than 120,000 nurses, 10,000 pharmacists, 15,000 lab technicians, 13,000 diagnostic imaging technologists, and thousands of physicians. Candidates need a Career Agent to step in, screen the opportunities, educate them on available positions – duties, pay range, benefits, location, etc. -- and negotiate on their behalf.

To locate candidates, Career Agents use research software that extracts contact information from state licensure databases, staff directories and organization lists. They also use phone number “look up” software that finds home phone numbers for pharmacists, nurses, therapists, imaging technologists and physicians.

In addition, internet and email marketing will drive traffic to our website and create inbound candidate activity for you.

Q: How will I identify hospitals and other medical facilities that have current job openings?

A: You will locate understaffed employers by using the research tools and software we provide you with, which are even able to identify healthcare facilities with openings and where medical professionals prefer to work.

Prospective employers may bear the name of a company, a hospital, an institution, or a clinic and some will not publicize or advertise their openings, though they will often make room for your candidates once you present them.

When contacting employers, you will find that some prefer, or are forced by circumstances or budgeting, to use temporary employees rather than permanent. They are, of course, excellent prospects for your staffing services.

Q: Why would I do Split Placements and share the fee?

A: In most cases, you will market your candidates to employers with whom you have established a relationship and keep the entire recruiting fee. However, if you limit yourself to placing solely your own candidates, you'll be leaving money on the table. That’s because there will be candidates and/or job orders within your Database that you could make money with, if other Career Agents only knew about them. Half a fee is always better than none.

With our software, you will be able to choose which companies and which candidates you want to work “solo” and which to make available for Split Placement. For example, when you secure a job order or candidate, even outside your specialty, you can securely place the information in our Database and, with one click, other Members are made aware of it.

Q: What is the meaning of the term, “Accelerated Start-Up?”

A: Your participation in Accelerated Start-Up is strictly optional, but we offer it for good reason – so that you are in a position to generate revenue faster by working temporarily for an established Career Agent. You can earn as you learn.

It’s a trade-off, though, because you will necessarily defer some of your normal start-up activity and training while you assist existing, experienced Members in placing their candidates or filling their client contracts, for a share of the fees.

Accelerated or normal start-up, the choice is yours.

Q: How does your "Mentor" Program work?

A: Our Mentor Program is also optional but differs, in key respects, from our Accelerated Start-Up approach. Most important, new Mentored Agents are working for themselves from the start, not for another Career Agent. Operationally, a new Agent is assigned to a Mentor after completing the basic portions of initial training. As an established, successful owner of their own healthcare recruiting company, you may be assured that the Mentor will be committed to helping you achieve your goals.

If you opt to take this approach, you will be required to participate in frequent, regular conference calls with your Mentor and to report the outcome of your daily and weekly activities. This will help you launch your business by staying focused, on-course, and productive.

Q: If I pay no royalties or franchise fees, how does Career Agents Networks make money?

A: Though we don't lose money on our training of Career Agents, part of our ongoing revenue is derived from Split Placements between Members of our Network. One Career Agent provides the job opening, the other supplies the qualified candidate – and each receives 45% of the placement fee while Career Agents Network receives the remaining 10%.

Example: one of your Split Placements earns a $24,000 total fee. You and the other Career Agent involved will each receive $10,800, while Career Agents Network receives $2,400 (10%). The more successful you are at making Split Placements, the more Career Agents Network as a whole prospers.

Q: When and if I choose to, how can I expand my healthcare recruiting company?

A: You can focus solely on your own recruiting activity if you like, but you also have the option of building your own team of Recruiting Consultants, either from the start or at a later date.

Regardless, when you choose to begin building your team, a Level 1 Upgrade provides you with “seat licenses” to train as many Recruiting Consultants as you send us until no fewer than five of them are making money for you as recruiters. They will work entirely on commission from offices in their homes, and pay a portion of their income to you.

A Level 2 Upgrade includes the training of five Recruiting Consultants – same as Level 1 – adds five more seat licenses and further includes our professional help and support in hiring managers and setting up systems to bring a stand-alone “brick and mortar” recruiting and staffing operation to life. You will be assisted step-by-step in site selection, lease negotiation, office set-up, computer/phone systems, the hiring process, office management and more. In addition to supporting your operational success, our foundation work can put your business in the best possible position to be sold some day for maximum profit.

Expansion is really up to you. Do you want a business where you can earn six figures working solo? Would you prefer to go beyond that income level and leverage your time by involving – and overseeing -- others? The choice is yours.

Q: Is a supplemental fee required for either Upgrade?

A: Yes, an additional fee is required if you decide to upgrade but the amount of the fee depends on when you make that decision.

A Level 1 Upgrade costs $10,000 when you sign-up as a Career Agent, or $20,000 at any time thereafter. The Level 2 Upgrade is an additional $20,000 at the time of purchase or an additional $40,000 at any later date.

Q: Please explain how staffing can be a significant income source for me.

A: Above-average demand for staffing is common in high-growth industries. Companies use temporary workers for a variety of reasons, including fluctuations in need, budget, or worker availability. As a staffing resource, you will provide temporary employees to such client companies, on contract, for a premium hourly fee.

You will pay your workers more than they would receive hourly in a permanent position, but significantly less than the employer has contracted to pay you. The difference is your gross margin, from which your company deducts FICA, withholding, social security, and the cost of insurance. These deductions are the burden and what remains is your net profit.

Example: A hospital needs 10 nurses. The staffing company employs them at $40 per hour and contractually provides them to the hospital at $60 per hour.

Q: What if I don’t have the funds needed to payroll my staffing transactions?

A: That would be no surprise because most people don't. As much as $300,000 to $400,000 is needed to start a small staffing company. That’s due to the float or the payroll you must meet while waiting to get paid by your client companies. In the 10-nurse staffing example given in the previous answer, if all are working full-time at $40 per hour, you – your company -- must promptly pay them $16,000 each week, every week they work.

It could take 4-6 weeks, or longer, before this one client pays you for the first week that your nurses worked for them. Meanwhile, you will have paid out $64,000 to $96,000 in payroll costs. If you don’t have that kind of money available to you, Career Agents Network can help. When we believe the opportunity will be profitable for you and us we are more than willing to pay your employees and handle all bookkeeping, taxes, and insurance, for a share of the profits.

Q: Do I need to lease office space?

A: Unless you feel that you absolutely cannot work efficiently and effectively in your home environment, don’t waste your money. For starters, all the office space that most of our Career Agents have needed has been in their homes.

Even if you later decide to grow your business by adding Recruiting Consultants, they will most likely work from their own home offices as you support them remotely, online.

But when, at any future date, your goal is to expand your company dramatically, that’s the time to seriously consider leasing brick-and-mortar office space. That’s when your physical space requirements can get complicated.

And that’s when our Level 2 “Management” upgrade will prove to be indispensible to you. Through it, we will assist you with selecting a location, lease negotiations, office set-up, hiring and much more. With it, you will be able to send your new Recruiting Consultants through training and receive guidance and counsel concerning your managers and infrastructure.

Q: Why does Career Agents Networks require that I pay a fee at all?

A: Your investment is needed to cover the cost of providing your training, support, and all the technology resources you will need for research, marketing, and candidate management.

Specifically, your fee goes toward maintaining the extensive and complex Network which gives you and other Members a strong competitive edge, a Network that brings efficiencies to staffing support and payroll funding and provides all the links and systems required for such profitable activities as Split Placements.

Considering this opportunity's income potential, we think our fee is reasonable when compared to the high earnings it will make possible, year-in and year-out.

Q: How can I finance the fee for joining Career Agents Network?

A: If you decide to become a Career Agent, how you fund the fee, after completing our Business Analysis Process, is up to you. We can counsel you on all your options, from SBA loans to debt and non-secured loans.

If you qualify as a Career Agent, we can assist you in determining which of your funding options are best for you, personally.

Q: Can I operate this business part-time?

A: Definitely. You can increase your personal income and launch your recruiting and staffing business before leaving a current job, particularly if yours is a typical five-day-week, daytime position. However, sacrifice and determination will be required.

Individual job candidates are most accessible in evenings and on weekends, which fits conveniently with the availability of Career Agents who still have a full-time day job.

Because contact with employers is normally made during business hours, other Career Agents will be in touch with employers while you’re at work. When a placement of one of your candidates is made in a position that has been found by another Career Agent, you will split the fee.

On the other hand, if your time is flexible during business hours, you can make those daytime employer contacts yourself, so that when you place one of your candidates in a position you’ve found, you will keep the entire fee.

Q: What expenses should I anticipate when I launch my business?

A: Beyond our initial fee of $29,900, your costs will include your living expenses and the purchase of any home office equipment you don't already own, including a recent workstation or laptop PC, a high-speed internet line and a printer/scanner/fax combination machine or equivalent; and, of course, telephone equipment – a cell phone, land-line, and compatible headsets. There is no need to establish an office outside your home or to incur any office rental or lease costs.

Q: What does the future hold for those affiliated with Career Agents Network?

A: High-growth industries, by definition, have a strong and growing need for educated and skilled employees. In all disciplines within healthcare, readily available employment statistics predict increasing shortages of qualified employees over the next decade. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, seven of the 20 fastest growing jobs are in healthcare, which will add 3 million new jobs in the next 8 years, outpacing every other industry by far.

As 76 million Baby Boomers have begun flooding into retirement age, even greater pressure is being put on an already understaffed healthcare system. Increasing healthcare demand will collide with a predicted decreasing supply, making it harder than ever for employers to find and hire the talent they need. And any healthcare reform by our nation or states can only exacerbate the shortages of available healthcare providers.

Career Agents Network happens to be the only company that emphasizes an Agent approach to recruiting in high-growth industries such as healthcare. Furthermore, there is no other entity in today’s recruiting and/or staffing world whose advanced use of technology is comparable to ours.

Q: I'm interested. Where do I go from here?

A: First, carefully review all the information that's available to you in print and online. Then take the next step and complete the Career Agent Qualification Profile online at: www.careeragentsnetwork.com/qualification

When we receive your completed Qualification Profile, we will schedule a confidential telephone interview to answer any initial questions you may have and to learn more about your background and experience.

At that time, we can also discuss the Business Analysis Process that we require all prospective Career Agents to go through. It includes, 1) your review of the Career Agents Business Plan, 2) participation in an online demonstration of our software, and 3) interviews with at least three Members of our Advisory Panel.

To expedite the process, contact us anytime at 866-366-9990.

And good luck, wherever your personal career path may lead!
